BOOK SIGNING and Short Film Event at Park City Cafe

Author / Filmmaker Opal Dockery will sign copies of her new reference book A CONSIDERATION THAT CHILDHOOD OBESITY COULD BE CLASSIFIED AS LEGALIZED CHILD ABUSE , Monday, January 20h from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at Wasatch Bagel Cafe, 1300 Snow Creek Drive, Park City Utah 84060.

Included with the book will be a signing of Opal's award winning documentary short film THE ACCEPTABLE SIN, screened at over 40 film festivals worldwide.

The event is free and open to all, and will be held in conjunction with the 2014 Sundance and Slamdance Film Festivals.

Synopsis: Ms. Dockery's reference book is the first of its kind to show a possible direct link between Childhood Obesity and Child Abuse. Childhood obesity is a preventable medical disorder that fulfills the legal definition of Child Abuse. Through extensive research, and finding that it captures the lives of children and is transferred to adulthood, remaining a constant lifelong problem, this book shows and educates the reader that Childhood Obesity could and should be considered a legalized form of Child Abuse.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Opal Dockery is an award-winning actress, writer, poet and speaker. Her independent films have screened at over 300 film festivals worldwide. A former burlesque dancer for over 20 years, Ms. Dockery has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. She has been a vegetarian/vegan for over 40 years, and is an animal rights activist.
